神秘的で圧倒的な存在感が話題となり、2009年のデビュー時にはUKでもっとも期待される新人アーティストとして紹介、英BRIT AWARDや米グラミー賞にノミネートされるなどして注目を集めたFlorence & The Machineが待望のセカンド・アルバムを完成！
前作『Lungs』から約2年半ぶりとなる今作『Ceremonials』は前作に引き続きPaul Epworthをプロデューサーに起用。アルバムは「壮大で、ソウルフル、パワフル」なところはAdeleやTori Amosを思い起こさせるものの、リズム部分ではKate Bushを強く感じさせる作品となっています。
イギリスではファッション界からもラブコールが送られるFlorence Welchですが、日本でもVogue Japanの表紙を飾るなどじわじわと注目を集めています。
