◆ロックの殿堂の一員であり、グラミー賞受賞アーティストでもある、プログレッシヴ・ロックのパイオニア的存在、イエスが1973年に発表した通算6作目となるスタジオ・アルバム『海洋地形学の物語』。この作品は片面1曲ずつ収録した全4曲からなる2枚組アルバムであり、その難解な世界観と黄金時代を迎えていた彼らの壮絶な技術の粋を極限まで極めたサウンドは多くのファンの間で議論を巻き起こし、イエスにとって最も壮大な大作であり最大の問題作としても語られる、ロック史最も野心的なアルバムの一つとしてその名を刻み込む名作だ。今回この壮大なる大作が、まさに想像を絶する規模感となる12枚のCDとBlu-ray、そして2枚組アナログ盤からなる超豪華15枚組のスーパー・デラックス・エディションとなって登場することが決定した。

◆このスーパー・デラックス・エディションには、オリジナル・アルバムの最新リマスター音源に加え、スティーヴン・ウィルソンによる最新リミックスや最新インストゥルメンタル・ミックス、レア音源や今まで未発表となっていたスタジオ音源やライヴ音源、そして同じくスティーヴン・ウィルソンの手によるドルビーアトモス・ヴァージョンなどが合計15枚のディスクにたっぷりと収録されている。また、シド・シュワルツによる詳細なライナーノーツや当時の貴重な写真などを掲載したブックレットも同梱されている。

◆また、このスーパー・デラックス・エディションにはアルバム『海洋地形学の物語』に伴うツアーの中から、1973年11月28日のマンチェスター公演、1973年12月1日のカーディフ公演、そして1974年4月21日のチューリッヒ公演という、ツアー初期の貴重なライヴ音源も収録されている。ここにはアルバム収録曲全4曲の未発表ライヴ・パフォーマンスに加え、彼らの人気曲「And You And I」と「Close To The Edge」のパフォーマンスも収録されている。また、同梱されているBlu-rayにはアルバムのドルビーアトモス・ミックスをはじめ、5.1ミックスやステレオ・リミックス、ステレオ・リマスター、そしてインストゥルメンタル・ミックスといった音源が収録されている。
