Iannis Xenakis has a long story with Timpani. The five important discs of his orchestral work recorded with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg remain in the label's catalogue. Stphanos Thomopoulos - whose first commercial disc this is - does not just share a common origin with Xenakis. He is also the first pianist to be the holder of a doctorate in performance, and has become with his lectures the exegete of Xenakis' music.
