Bryan Singer 監督の愛を感じる作品。ミュータント達がただ強くかっこいいだけでなく、「違い」に対する弱さを見せることでドラマ性が高まっている。本作はちょっと地味な印象を受けるのだがそれは、次作 ”X-MEN2” に向けての顔見せ的イントロダクションであると考えると、暗めの映像も良い感触となる。

独特の雰囲気が好きですね。ストーリーはともかく、役者と個性豊かなキャラクターは皆ハマリ役でした。パトリック･シチュワートは特に(笑)。でもあせって映画を作ったみたいで、中途半端でした。できれば登場人物も増やして欲しかったです。X-メンの魅力はそこにあるんですから。
