More Of Thee

William Finley was born and raised in East New York, Brooklyn NY where he developed a love for music at a very early age. William's smooth baritone/bass voice was influenced by some of Jazz's greatest talent and R & B; especially the love of the sultry vocals of Teddy Pendergrass, The O-Jays, Will Downing, the late Marvin Gaye, Fred Hammond and a host of other gospel artists. In 1988 William became a member of the local singing group Higher Consciousness (Hi C). In 1989 the group signed a recording contract with independent record label Sleeping Bag Records. While with the label the group released their debut single 'I Don't Know If I Should Give My Love to You'. The group performed at various venues and experienced local success in the New York area. It was in 1990 while attending Jack the Rapper New Music Seminar in Georgia where William was introduced to the music of the Winnans; his love for gospel music began. God led William to Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY were he serves in the male chorus and the Grace Baptist Church Choir. William's other credits include vocal performances and lead vocals on 'Holy Spirit' on the Grace Baptist Church Choir CD 'Breakthrough'. After harnessing the fire for Jesus Christ in his heart which has transcended his voice to a new level, and now by God's blessings William now releases his debut solo CD titled 'More of Thee'.
