Grip Of The Hand

For 'Grip of the Hand' Waster went back to Producer/Engineer Stu McKillop (Ancients, Barn Burner, Baptists) who also recorded their debut album 'Thunderpit'. This time however, instead of tracking in at McKillop's Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, they brought him to their home town of Winnipeg, MB and tracked the album live off the floor at Bedside Studios. The albums 9 songs range from relentless bangers to grimy groove laden beasts. The groove is plentiful with this five piece and riffs pile on riffs so high that singer Nick Wiebe has to literally climb the barricade just to get on top of them. While guitarists Michael Fardoe and Harley Watt keep the guitars thick and grinding, drummer Casey Fiorante and bassist Tim Halbert round out the bottom end. Since forming in 2010 Waster have logged countless hours on the road back and forth across Canada playing venues big and small. This dedication to the road has garnered the band national tours with 3 Inches of Blood, Cancer Bats, This is Hell, Barn Burner and Flatliners. Waster has also made appearances at Canadian Music Week (2011 & 2012) and played the Sled Island Festival in 2012. Waster recorded a 4 song EP in 2010 (under a different name) and in 2011 started work on their debut full length 'Thunder Pit'. The albums 10 tracks were recorded by Stu McKillop at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver BC, and the album was released in late 2011 on Vancouver Punk imprint Gold Stock Records. The video for 'Thunder Pit's' first single 'Rocket Rider' was featured in regular rotation on Much Loud Television helping to grow their already strong national fan base.
