日本でいえばケントスのようなライブ・ハウスに往年のヒット・スターを集めた豪華な一夜を映像にしたもの。９０年代の収録だから、カラー映像、音響もいいが、なにしろ登場のスターは、往時の年齢＋３０αだから、あぁあのボビー・ヴィーも“おでこのデコヴィー”といった風情。でもね、さすが昔とった杵柄、みんな自分のヒット曲はさすがにうまいんだわー。声の出ない森山加代子だとかただ毒々しい弘田三枝子などとはワケが違うのですよ。これが自分の歌だと信じていた人と、よくわかんないけど歌えっていわれたからという人との違いはこの年になると歴然とするんですねぇ。トーケンズの「ライオンは寝ている」やルー・クリスティの「恋のひらめき」のうまさにはびっくり。ともに全米１位の曲だけど、当時のＥＰ盤よりもいいぐらい。それにしても、よくぞ１９人もの人を登場させたものだ（編集かもしれないが）。
