Digitally remastered and expanded edition of the American Rock trio's 1969 album including three bonus tracks. Long Island's Vanilla Fudge formed in 1966 when vocalist and organist Mark Stein, bassist Tim Bogert and drummer Carmine Appice came together to form one of the most influential Rock trios of the 1960s. Rock and Roll would be the band's final album of their initial formation. Released in September 1969, the album maintained the excellence of their previous works, featuring self-written material such as 'Need Love', 'Lord in the Country' along with imaginative covers of 'The Windmills of Your Mind', and Carole King and Gerry Goffin's 'I Can't Make it Alone'.

当時のアナログ盤は音が悪かった。ＣＤになっても相変わらずだ。Vanillaの作品はすべてMIXの出来が悪い。でもそれでも、元の演奏の生音は凄かったんだろうな．．．と思わせるコテコテの魅力に満ち溢れてる。解散目前丸出しの、奥ゆかしさゼロの快作だ！
