Polygraph

Listening to Vandermeer is listening to a very sensitive voice with a smoky finish, surrounded by a notable combo. With their demo-version of 'all is fair in love and war', they won the quattropole contest in early 2012, only 2 months after their formation. Their debut album 'polygraph' is financed by crowdfunding in february 2013, and released 9 month later. As written in a review, the songs of 'polygraph' cannot be arranged in genres. With 'stop', 'not available' or 'I will', there are indie-rock-songs with exactly the right balance between energy and catchy melodies. Between these songs, you'll encounter some trips into different genres like swing music or spherical synthesizer-sound. Between pop, rock, singer-songwriter, chanson, jazz, a deep drawn sigh.... sometimes a bit of everything, but never too much. Listening to the songs, composed by Harmke and Flo, leaves you with a sweet feeling of wanting more.
