1970年発表のこの『ムーンダンス』も前作『アストラル・ウィークス』に負けず劣らずの名作！　タイトル曲M2や4「キャラヴァン」、M5「イントゥ・ザ・ミスティック」といった人気曲を収録。ヴァン・モリソンのソウルフルなヴォーカルは本作でも絶好調！　女声コーラスなどの入るナンバーなどは文句なしに盛り上がるし、ジャズ的な要素を巧みに用いて、渋いファンキーさ（派手ではないトコがミソ）を持つ曲に仕上げられたタイトル曲「ムーンダンス」はやはり白眉。その他様々な音楽要素を融合しながら”ヴァン・モリスンならでは”と感じさせる手腕はスゴ過ぎ！
