ベートーヴェンの『交響曲第9番』以降、合唱を用いた交響曲は多く生まれているが、児童合唱を用いたヴァインベルクの『交響曲第6番』はそれらの中でも異色の作品だろう。 美しさと激しさが混じり合う音楽で、第3楽章ではヴァインベルクのユダヤ人としてのアイデンティティーが溢れている。 ウラディーミル・ランデ指揮、サンクトペテルブルク交響楽団、グリンカ・コラール・カレッジ少年合唱団が素晴らしい演奏をしている。
