タイトル「The ONES (ヨミ：ザワンズ)」は、個と、個の集合体が幾つも合わさって完成したアルバムであることを意味している。新録全11曲、シングル3曲で構成。メンバーが考える「今、V6でやりたい」をテーマに、楽曲セレクト・歌詞の内容・歌い分け・映像に関して全て監修した6曲を収録。まさにV6の「今」を表した1枚。

制作陣には秋元康・石野卓球・大橋トリオ・秦基博・浜野謙太・レキシなどを迎え、職人気質V6のアルバムに彩りを添えている。

初回生産限定盤Aには収録曲、全曲の映像作品収録。
そしてNHKみんなのうた4-5月度楽曲「太陽と月のこどもたち」の別MVも収録と豪華な仕様になっている。
