まず初めに言いますが、このアルバムにVertigoみたいな曲はVertigoしか入ってないです！　　 プロデューサーは最初クリストーマスに頼んだのですが、途中でどうにもならなくなって最終的にスティーブリリーホワイトに頼んだので、ある意味パンクになり損ねた結果ブリットポップ寄りになってしまったアルバムと呼べるかも　　 方向性的には90年代っぽい感じです　　 エッジのヨシュア的なキラキラ反復ギターは鳴りを潜めていて（一応1曲はあります！）結局リリーホワイトに頼んだことも含めて、非・イーノ路線なアルバムです　　　　 U2の90年代は賛否両論のデジロック路線だったので、ロック路線で90年代をやりなおしたifアルバムと言えるかもしれません　　　　 私はミラクルドラッグの不思議なギターソロが90年代ロックのエッジ的解釈と言った感じで大好きです

乾いたドラムスティックのカウント、ガキッとしたギターのカッティング、もうこれだけでゾクゾクさせてくれる。９０年代の実験的な作品には正直距離を置いてたが、前作に続くシンプルなロックサウンド。 時折聞こえるディレイの効いたギターに思わずニヤリ。 やっぱりＵ２はスリリングなロックバンド。政治的メッセージも 含んだこのアルバムが世界を覆った憂鬱感を吹き飛ばして欲しい。
