In My Hometown

It wasn't long after posting a few of the tunes which would later be on this album to youtube, that i was contacted by many people for mp3s of the posted songs. One in particular called 'The Majestic Theater' got the attention of a nearby theater in which I wrote about, and they adopted the song for their website and the newspaper did a big write-up about the song. A couple others called 'Travel by Train' and 'Stop Look and Listen' also became popular. A short time later we released the album and now we can give the customers what they want on a large scale! My brother Kevin and I have been recording this project for a couple years. He is the drummer, and I (Ray) play all the other instruments and sing. Also, our father who also is a drummer, joined me on three songs and we are delighted to have him on this project! This is our thrid CD release. Listeners/viewers can visit raytutaj.com for info about gigs etc. MY brother Kevin lives in Las Vegas and I live in LaSalle Illinois. I write the songs and when i finish my parts, I send him the wav files and he puts his drums to the tracks. That is how we released all of our albums! We were in a band together when I lived in Las Vegas and we were a hard rock group and we played many places there and recieved the award of Best New Band in the early 1990's. This album here,'In my Hometown' is influenced bu so many groups and individuals. I persoanlly am a fingerpicking guitar player and I love picking stuff like Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke, Paul Simon etc. BUt I also love the Tom Petty and Travelin' Wilbury's sound. I love the Beatles, Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin and many more. All these artists have influenced me in my songwriting. When I write, I strive for a catchy, infectious, melody, something you can sink your teeth into!
