ニューヨーク・フィル首席且つソリストであるジョセフ・アレッシ氏の数多くリリースしているＣＤの中で一番完成度が高く、選出された作品にハズレが無いのが何とも嬉しい一枚である。特にプライアーの作品、『釣鐘草』などは超絶技巧を駆使した作品であるが、アレッシ氏のビッグな音と完璧な音程には舌を巻く。極端に述べればアマチュアでトロンボーンをしている方はこのＣＤを聴けば、耳を鍛える点でもかなりの勉強になるし、アレッシ・ファン、トロンボーンを演奏する方は必ず持っていなければならないＣＤと断言できる出来栄えだ。
