Product Description

Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1969 Progressive Rock masterpiece including five bonus tracks. Formed in 1968 by former Kingsmen keyboard player Don Gallucci, the band also featured Joey Newman, Bruce Hauser, Jeff Hawks and John Barnardo. Making their home in a Moorish style mansion in the Hollywood Hills, Touch created an album both experimental and ground breaking in style. Their debut album was recorded at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood and sessions saw admirers such as JImi Hendrix, Grace Slick and Mick Jagger visit the studio to offer encouragement and support to the band. Tracks such as the epic Seventy Five and The Spiritual Death of Howard Greer were hallmarks of the album's excellence. Esoteric.

昔から気になっていたアルバムです。でも率直な所、今回初めて聴いてイマイチだった。どちらかと言うとTRILLIONやSTARCASTLE,STYX系の音です。キャッチーなキーボードがあるとダメな自分にはNGでした･･･。飽くまで好みの判断なので、悪いアルバムとは言いません。

69年のUSバンドとは思えない先進的なサウンド。 長大な楽曲にジャズ、フォーク、ボップス、サイケ/ヘヴィーロック、クラシック、ニューエイジ風の雰囲気まで、とりとめもない楽想が現れては消えて行きます。 いろいろな要素が未整理状態のままなので一貫性がなく説得力はイマイチですが、白昼夢を見ているような幻想的な雰囲気を醸し出します。 しかしながら、PROG ROCK的なアプローチが確立される以前、サイケ〜フォーク・ロック全盛期の当時のアメリカでは、真の意味でのプログレッシブなサウンドといえるのではないでしょうか。
