Product Description

Cheek to Cheek is a collaborative album by American singers Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. It was released on September 19, 2014, through Interscope Records and Columbia Records. Bennett and Gaga first met in 2011 at the Robin Hood Foundation gala in New York City. After the two later recorded a rendition of The Lady Is a Tramp, they began discussing plans for working on a jazz project. Cheek to Cheek consists of jazz standards by popular jazz composers, such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, and Irving Berlin. The album was inspired by Bennett and Gaga's desire to introduce the songs to a younger generation, since they believed that the tracks had universal appeal.

トニーベネットの声がさすがに厳しいが、レディガガの歌はさすがの一言。コロナ禍、Youtubeで公開したスマイルの弾き語りも素敵だったが、改めてスタンダードナンバーを歌ったアルバムを出してほしいと思います。絶対に買いますので。

’14年発表｡常に話題を振りまくことに事欠かないﾚﾃﾞｨｰ･ｶﾞｶﾞ｡いつもはその奇抜なﾌｧｯｼｮﾝであったりするのだが､今回は少し趣が違う｡ｱﾒﾘｶが誇る最高のﾎﾞｰｶﾘｽﾄであるﾄﾆｰ･ﾍﾞﾈｯﾄとのｱﾒﾘｶのｽﾀﾝﾀﾞｰﾄﾞ･ﾎﾟﾋﾟｭﾗｰ･ﾐｭｰｼﾞｯｸ､早い話がｱﾒﾘｶ人であれば誰でも知っている名曲の数々をﾃﾞｭｴｯﾄしたｱﾙﾊﾞﾑをﾘﾘｰｽ｡ﾆｭｰﾖｰｸ出身でｲﾀﾘｱの血を引くなど共通点が多い2人｡新旧ｴﾝﾀｰﾃｨﾅｰのｺﾞｰｼﾞｬｽな競演ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ｡

>と ＜Lush Life>。特に後者は、女性ヴォーカル史上に刻印されるといっても過言ではない、心打たれる名唱である。声自体がチャーミングであり、メロディーラインを 些かも傷つけない過不足ない情感の込め方も素晴らしい。 デュエットでは、アルバムタイトルのなど快調そのものであるが、バラード好みの私には、それ以上にに心ひかれる。衰えを知らぬトニーのソロも数曲収録されており、 では最初ちょっと苦しそうに聞こえるが、何度か聴くうちに歌う事そのものへの 深い愛情と洞察を実感させる至芸が、耳から心に伝わってくる。 このディスクの中の数曲の録音風景をYouTubeで視聴できるが、これが、見もの 聞き物である。トニーとガガの信頼関係、友情がダイレクトに伝わってくる。 それにしても、ここでのレディー・ガガ，粋で愛らしく、見惚れるばかりの カッコ良さである。近いうちに、彼女のソロヴォーカルで、ジャズ・スタンダーズを歌いまくるディスクの登場が期待され、予感される。、
