Metamorphosis

The former leader of the Sundogs and violinist/fiddler/composer Tom Rigney expands his fiddle fusion concept with a new disc featuring twelve instrumental pieces, with ten being his originals. This CD reflects the broadening and deepening of Rigney's vision as a composer and arranger, and showcases his passionate, virtuoso technique on the fiddle. A few tunes retain some of the Cajun/Zydeco flavor that have been his hallmark for the past fifteen years, but on most of the tracks, the South Louisiana sound is combined with multiple styles, including Irish, Acadian, roots rock, folk, Balinese Gamelan, Spanish, Gypsy, European, old-timey mandolin rhythms and much more.
