デビュー・アルバムから一年後1966年に発表された作品。軽快なM1、ジョン・エントウィッスル作M2、4の奇妙な味と来て、超名カヴァー「恋はヒートウェーヴ」（マーサ＆ヴァンデラス）のカッコ良さで完全にノックアウト！　（当時米盤は「ハッピー・ジャック」に差し換えられた）　と思ったらいきなりキース・ムーンの訳解らじナンバー、と良く言えば凡百のビート・バンドにはないヴァラエティの豊富さで楽しませてくれる。後のロック・オペラの原点とも言える組曲M10なども見逃せないし、なかなか侮れない発見のある一枚。
