Going Back To Texas

Tex Callens, at 78 years old, has released his first professional recording. Growing up in East Texas, his influences were Jimmy Rodgers, Hank Williams and other classic country music pioneers from the time when modern country music emerged as a fusion of blues and folk traditions. 'Going Back to Texas' includes covers of these artists and others, as well as several wonderfully authentic tracks (#2, #4 and #11) written by Tex himself. This CD was produced by Dean Rosenthal and remains respectfully true to the retro style. We hope you enjoy this trip back into a golden era of American roots music.
