Ode To A Roadkill

This album is dedicated to the millions of animals each year who meet an untimely death on our roads... Well, this is unexpected. Ted Kirkpatrick, craziest drummer in Christian rock n roll, h...as released an album of slow, plodding stoner rock. Ted is better known for his thousand beats per minute drumming in Tourniquet. The guitar (wall of) sound is amazing. Absolutely drenched in fuzz. Beautiful. If you just downloaded the tracks you really are missing a lot. And I don't mean it just in the 'collectors must have the real deal and not just mp3 files' but as art. I actually feel it's the best package Tourniquet has ever done. About the music... I've now found something in each and every song that gives me goosebumps, even if it's just a small thing. The more I listen to it the more I like it... It sounds like background music for a movie, or for the animal exhibits at the zoo. It's spacy, atmospheric and unusual. I would kill for that guitar tone. That is the most amazing guitar tone I've ever heard. The animal vocals are cool when they are there. I've really been getting into stoner doom in general and this is a great addition to my slowly growing stoner collection. I applaud Ted Kirkpatrick and Tourniquet for being ONE OF THE ONLY CHRISTIAN ARTISTS to ever stand up for the issue of animal rights. Pretty cool. Reminds me of Bongzilla and Electric Wizard's Dopethrone album. The animal sounds are very well recorded and cool.
