Chants du Mawlid (English text follows) Le CD 'Chants du Mawlid' a t ralis partir d'une soire thmatique organise l'occasion de la fte anniversaire du Prophte Muhammad (Mawlid Nabawy). En premire partie de soire, le professeur Denis Gril a donn une confrence 'origine et actualit du Mawlid', don't le texte figure dans le livret, illustr de calligraphies originales de Makhfi. En deuxime partie, l'ensemble Taybah a interprt une suite de Mada'ih nabawiyya, pangyriques du Prophte, pomes mystiques la gloire de Dieu et de son Envoy, ou extraits de sa nativit (mawalid nabawiyya). Ces pomes sont traditionnellement chants au cours du mois du Mawlid dans les foyers, cercles soufis ou lors de veilles dans les mosques. Enregistr en direct lors de la soire du 12 avril 2006, le concert est intgralement reproduit dans le prsent CD. Livret de 32 pages avec calligraphies originales de M. MakhfiTAYBAH SUFI CHANTS The CD 'Mawlid Chants' was realized during an evening celebration that marked the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (Mawlid Nabawy). During the first part of this event, the professor Denis Gril gave a speech entitled 'the origins and the actuality of Mawlid'- the text of which is reproduced in the accompanying CD liner notes, accompanied by original calligraphy by Makhfi. During the second part of the evening, the ensemble Taybah interpreted a sequence of Mada'ih nabawiyya (tributes to the Prophet), mystical poems glorifying God and His Messenger, and excerpts from his blessed birth (mawalid nabawiyya). These poems are traditionally recited throughout the month of Mawlid, and especially during the evenings at Sufi gatherings, in homes and mosques alike. Recorded live during the evening of the 12th of April, 2006, the concert has been fully reproduced on this present CD. The 32-page book accompanied by original calligraphy by M. Makhfi.
