Like on the other 2 CD's, all compositions are written by the band itself. Special guests are Fred Wesley, trombone-player and ex-band leader of James Brown. Because Fred Wesley enjoyed the recordings with Susanne Alt in the summer of 2008, so he invited her back this february for a little tour with his own band through Holland and France. The Susanne Alt Quartet has been on tv only this year already twice, once they performed at a dutch talkshow and the other appearance was an interview and performing for in total 15 minutes in a music program. The CD-release tour was succesful as well; the Bimhuis in Amsterdam was sold out! The band is planning many concerts in 2009 and 2010 again. Not all the concerts are always written on Susanne's website yet, please come back once in a while and get an update. Susanne Alt was born 1978 in Wuerzburg, Germany. Her parents are classical musicians and she's gotten music lessons from an early age on. She moved to Amsterdam, Holland for jazz studies. Susanne continued her studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin where she graduated in 2003. Since then she's a freelance musician. Besides playing with bands she works a lot with dj's/producers like: DJ Spinna, Wicked Jazz Sounds, DJ Maestro, DJ Roog, Natarcia, Erick E., Ronald Molendijk etc. Releases of the Susanne Alt Quartet up to now: On Track (2009) Delight (2007) Nocturne (2004) Instore Distribution: Bertus: www.bertus.com.
