テミルカーノフが『春の祭典』を再録音。前回は1988年のロイヤル・フィルとのRCA録音だったで、今回は20年以上を経てのものということになります。オーケストラはロシアを代表する名門、サンクト・ペテルブルグ・フィル（旧レニングラード・フィル）。
テミルカーノフは旧盤録音と同じ1988年に同オケの音楽監督兼首席指揮者に就任しているので、新盤は、以来20数年という両者の経験の蓄積が反映されたものともいえそうです。その間、2011年にはテミルカーノフはサンクト・ペテルブルグ・フィルとの来日公演で『春の祭典』をとりあげ、迫力・表現力とも素晴らしい演奏を聴かせていたこともあり、今回のアルバムにもかなり期待の持てるところです。（ＨＭＶ）
