Product Description

These sixteen songs illustrate the story of the intersecting lives of a Hippie Baby Boomer and an extraterrestrial anthropologist who arrives from a Utopian culture two billion years more advanced than our own with the objective of learning about Earth culture by following the life of a single specimen. He criticizes all of the major institutions of Earth and the life choices of his subject. Eventually he perceives the imminence of an ecological catastrophe, and although he becomes famous within his own culture for lifting anthropology from a descriptive to a predictive science, he faces an ethical dilemma when he questions his culture's Code of Non-Interference that prohibits him from warning Terrans of the threat of massive suffering and death. In the book PARTYTRAP there are illuminating portrayals of life in California, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, and many parts of France, including a 700 mile covered wagon trip through the heartland of America, home birthing, homesteading, log house construction, marijuana growing, and sailing in Puget Sound,--all within the lifestyle of a struggling musician searching for enlightenment through sex, drugs, and rock & roll. PARTYTRAP is a work of contemporary art in a novel form that is intended to raise consciousness about the impacts of global warming and looming petroleum depletion and inspire readers to action to ameliorate the impending consequences. This CD is meant to accompany the printed edition of the book, but can stand alone as a concept album that illustrates significant events and realizations in the life of the artist.
