良質なロックのみをリリースし評価を得ているCounter Recordsからマンチェスターを拠点に活動するの5人組バンド、Spokesのアルバムがリリース。
プレストンで結成され2008年の自主制作でリリースしたEP、『People Like People Like You』がきっかけでUKで一気に注目を浴びるようになった彼ら。このEPは比較対称としてArcade Fireの作品全般が引き合いに出され、バンドのライブについて語られる時にはBroken Social Sceneが引き合いに出され話題となった。今作はシューゲイズ・ポップといった言葉が相応しいアルバムのタイトル曲でもある「Everyone I Ever Met」、アコースティックで暖かな「Sun It Never Comes」、ピアノ・バラード的な「Give It Up To The Night」、喜びが満ちあふれて聴く人を幸せな気分にさせる「Torn Up In Praise」、哀愁漂う田舎の美しい情景が目に浮かぶ「Happy Needs Colour」、そして毒々しくポップな「When I Was A Daisy, When I Was A Tree」といったヴァラエティー豊かな楽曲が収録されており、耳の肥えた音楽ファンであれば特にSpokesのバンドとしての素晴らしさを認めざるおえない作品になっている。
