Dodging Arrows

Sparks of Water is an acoustic rock band based out of the Pacific Northwest. At the core of the group is the songwriting team of Cameron and Michelle Johnson, who are randomly joined by a variety of their musical friends. Cameron leads on the guitar and backs on vocals and percussion (he has been known to play a mean rain stick), and Michelle leads the vocals and percussion. Their mix of friends make up the rest of the band, whenever everybody's ducks line up co-operatively. Their songs, which are mainly guitar based and instrumentally raw in nature, have an interesting mix of an edgy rock foundation topped with a smooth female vocal. Both in writing and performing, they are committed to their vision of making music that infuses an acoustic rock drive with the atmosphere of an intimate coffeehouse performance. It is this vision that has led them to refer to their own music style as 'Coffeehouse Rock'.
