Soma is an up and coming band from Sweden with a classic sound and a new idea. Soma is one of those band that likes mixing new and old together creating a sort of 'back to the future' moment. With a familiar sound inclosed in brand new wrapping. Soma was founded 2011 by Tim Johansson, Erik Mulak, Joakim Jespersen, Saga Staver and Marcus Brorsson. Erik says, ' The beginning was probably one of the more interesting times for us. We all come from different musical backgrounds, different musical preferences and experiences that none of us really knew how the creative process would be.' Soma spent the first year working hard on writing and creating nine brutal, catchy tracks that shines a light on the versatility and capability of this Metal band. In late fall of 2012 Soma made the transition from the writing stage to actually recoding in the studio. The process took one year and finally after much work and consideration, Soma's first album Patterns was released on Aug 10th 2013. Despite the musical preferences, genres and styles, Soma has managed to combine all the elements that they enjoy as a group to something that packs a punch, gives the listener a good head-banging experience as well as nice melodic interludes.
