When the two brothers Gerardo and Fernando Chavez came to Europe from Peru in 1992, the mixture of Latin American sounds with rock and pop was not a new invention. Carlos Santana had already infected the globe with this innovative and revolutionary sound and rhythm back in 1968, and since then names like Shakira, Ricky Martin, Juanes and Manu are part of the solid foundation of Latin rock or Latin pop. The declared aim of SHAVEZ is diversity; which is not difficult when you look at all the countries the individual musicians come from: Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Germany are the stylistic ingredients of a cocktail that gets to your ears and your legs.
