Shankhini, an Amazon MC, was born into an award winning family of artists & has been around the art of creating all her life. Her crafts are many but her mission always one - to connect art & spirit to people & communities. 2004 started with Shankhini being the 'Featured MC' on Nelly Furtado's 'Powerless' Saukrates Remix, which has enjoyed major play on international urban radio rotation. Her path as a free-styling MC began four years ago in Van city, chosen by audience members & piers, delivered on stage by Humpty Hump & flowing on top of the Digital Underground!! in June of 2003 she was chosen to compete in the freestyle battle on Much Music's 'Much on Demand' & she won in the live international broadcast! Shankhini the MC has been compared to California 'M' MC's Mystic, Medusa, Michael Franti. As well as the Diamanda Galas, Ani DiFranco, Alanis Morissette...& Frank Zappa of hip hop...
