’64年にナラ・レオンの伴奏にて初来日し、以来幾度もの来日公演にて日本人には親しみぶかいアーティストの一人であるセルジオ・メンデス。本作はセルジオ・メンデス・グループとしてはデビュー・アルバムとなる、後々も聴き継がれている不滅の名曲ジョルジ・ベンジョールの作品「マシュ・ケ・ナダ」が収録されたこのアルバムにてボサ･ノヴァの虜となったファンは数知れず....。グループ結成当時の’66年にA&Mの専属となり”ブラジル’66”と命名され、カヴァー曲が中心ではあったが彼なりの洒落たセンスのアレンジにより数々のヒット曲が生まれた。
