Victory

Sasha Papernik is a Russian-American classical pianist, singer, and songwriter who draws on her dueling heritage and love of nature to craft smart, atmospheric songs spanning the genre and continental divide. Scriabin, Irving Berlin, Russian folk songs, and originals appear in her repertoire. In 2012, her New York based ensemble presented her Russian-American interactive concert, I Speak Music, at Lincoln Center's Meet the Artist series. This year Sasha also toured the country as a singer for Touchtunes Interactive Networks with recent engagements in Phoenix, Austin, and Las Vegas. She was a recipient of a 2012 Wildacres Artist Residency in North Carolina and was most recently selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2014 as part of their popular Musical Explorers Series. 'Victory' is her new bilingual album reflecting repertoire from her recent live performances: stories of foreign lands and people. Arranged for her core group along with a string and horn ensemble, the entire album was recorded and produced in her home studio over the course of one year.
