この曲は近年ではアムランの演奏で知られている。けれども、この高橋悠治盤は作曲者自作自演盤とならんで長らくこの20世紀における最高の変奏曲の代表的レコードであった。実際その演奏はユウジだから出来るものであるということが聴けばわかる。クセナキスの作品を弾ききるユウジならではの技巧は決して聴き劣りするような演奏ではない。
