Ingrid Michaelson's songs have been featured on Grey's Anatomy episodes and Old Navy commercials, and there's a good reason she keeps getting selected for such high-profile exposure-the songs on Girls and Boys are an immediately appealing blend of pop song craft and vulnerable emotion. Michaelson has a more accessible voice and presentation than contemporaries like Feist and Regina Spektor, and her piano-driven arrangements hit all the right peaks and valleys, calling on a delicate acoustic guitar here, an overdriven electric there, to highlight her alternately joyful and mournful melodies.

ライアン・アダムスのアルバムでは個人的にベスト３に入る傑作。前作に次いで腰をおろしじっくり作った感のある。現在音楽活動休止中と聞いたのが惜しい、けれど今まで突っ走ってきた人だけにゆっくり休んで、出来たらまた素晴らしい音楽を聴かせてほしい、ベースの方がお亡くなりになったらしく、本当に、惜しい。全曲素晴らしく、様々な曲調で魅せてくれるが、やはり私的なベストはラストの「ストップ」、午前七時頃夜明けゆっくりと確実に動き始める世界・町を連想させるただただきれいな一曲。休みに入る自分自身に歌いかけているようにも今となっては思える。心が鮮やかに澄む、そんなレコード。

日本盤見送りは前作が宣伝の割りに振るわなかったせいでしょうか。まぁしょうがねーか。今作は普通にいいと思います。最高傑作とは思いませんが、最高！ではあります。殆どの総括で無視されてましたが、私の1st Decadeで一番感動した作品は、この人の「Love Is Hell」でした。

「Lost Highway」盤よりも「Mercury/polygram」盤の方が1曲多いようです。シングル「Follow the Lights」から日本盤は発売されていませんが「ユニバーサル・インターナショナル」さん、フルアルバムは出してください。
