Cardboard sleeve reissue from Roxy Music, features Platinum SHM-CD format and HR cutting from the 2014 DSD master, using the UK original analog master. Comes with original cover art faithfully replicated for the Japanese edition CD. The debuted for the first time about three years ago, disbanded and then reformed the band with all of it's activities. Original members Ray Tars, Gary Tibbs, former ace of Paul Carrack, masterpiece the original leadership of Alan Spenner is applied to the new group. They were formed and confronted squarely at the time of the punk /new wave music movement. Hit songs that headlined on the UK charts were Dance Away , Angel Eyes. First released in 1979. 初期の作品はいまだにＬＰも発売してるらしい。確かに、現在狙って作れる音楽ではないかも。ロキシーの作品で一枚となると、これを推します。冒頭のベースのラインから、アラビア風メロディへの展開と朗唱に近い語り、やってることはクラシックの現代音楽に近いが、ロックと呼ぶにはサービス精神に溢れ、ポップスと言い切るにはおっさん臭過ぎる。あくまで推測だが、ロキシー作品のメロディには、実はイギリス民謡などの下地が見え隠れしてそうな気が。『ドゥザストランド』には農村の舞踏曲、『リメイクリモデル』あたりにはスポーツ観戦の応援歌の要素など。

実は、後期ロキシーはあまり聞いてなかったので、今回紙ジャケ・リマスター盤を改めて聞いてみたのですが、これがまた素晴らしいですね。どうも、ジャケが私には今一つで聞かずにいたのですが、やはりフェリー御仁のヌメヌメサウンドが最高！数年前の来日コンサートの雰囲気が甦ります。耽美という言葉で片付けるにはあまりにも毒々しい…でも、はまるなぁ。

M1のイントロが流れてくると、あっという間に、ロキシーの世界に連れ去られる･･･復活宣言の1stアルバムに相応しい内容と出来栄えだ。ジャケットのセンスにも脱帽する。個人的にはM6そして最もブライアンらしいM8により惹かれるが、終曲のセンチメントこそがこのアルバムのひとつの美の究点かもしれない。オルゴールのねじが途切れるなかに、終わってゆくアルバム･･･ああ、ふたたび甦れよロキシー！
