Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, listeners are rediscovering these forward-thinking masterworks. Rosenfeld's composition embodies the strength and dignity valued by his nation, and the artistry sought by audiences the world over.
From its beginning, 'Die Vereweigerrung' is paced by the very deliberate piano. Virtually every musical shift is denoted by a shift in pace, the strings' rhythms as effective as any drumbeat in creating a sense of urgency or alarm.
