カバー写真でも明らかなように、グリーグの友人（ブラームスとも!）でもある、ユリウス・レントヘンの貴重なオーボエとファゴットのそれぞれのソナタ。本家の（？）グリーグにこの種の作品がないため、この時代の作風・雰囲気を味わえる（演奏の参考に！?）　 同国の先輩の作曲家の作品を手堅く演奏してくれている。
