Product Description

2 CD set. Japanese pressing includes a postcard and is packaged in two separate miniature LP sleeves (Disc One is in a standard Mini LP sleeve while Disc Two is in a gatefold). Disc One features the original 1979 release, while Disc Two features the 1983 remix and five bonus tracks: Alternate Takes of 'Exposure', 'Mary', 'Disengage', 'Chicago' and 'NY3'. This is Fripp's first solo album, from 1978. He invites quite a few players to perform on the tracks, so be prepared for a varied set of tunes. A few of them sound similar to his mid-70's work with King Crimson (especially 'Breathless'). However, guest singers such as Darryl Hall (of Hall & Oates fame), Terre Roche (of Roches fame), and Peter Gabriel insure that this will not be just a run through the motions. WHD. 2006.

１９７９年発表。巨匠のパンクとの邂逅。騒音化したポップスに対するミュージック・コンクレート化。書き連ねれば書き連ねるほど、はいはい、ロバート・フリップってスゴイ人なんでしょーねッとしか思われないだろう。　でも、ダリル・ホールがジョナサン・デイヴィスになる瞬間ってきいてみたくありませんか？

ピーター・ガブリエルのアルバムよりもいいヴァージョンの名曲“HERE COMES THE FLOOD”が入っている点で有名。ダリル・ホールやピーター・ハミルが歌う佳曲もあってそれなり楽しめる。

このアルバムの感想が分かれるのは、このアルバムが実験的なアルバムだからだ。キング・クリムゾンが成功し、ひとつのスタイルを確立したロバート・フリップは、おそらく自らの音楽スタイルとギター・プレイを変革しようと思ったに違いない。そのためには、キング・クリムゾンで息の合うメンバーとばかりやっていたのでは限界を感じ、ジャンルの異なる音楽シーンから著名なミュージシャンを選んでプレイすることで刺激を得ようと思ったのではないか。（yoc/カルト・ミュージック・コレクション）
