Raz Bin Sam, an emerging artist with a dynamic style and sound, comes from a small town in the centre of Israel. His culture is ancient, war ridden and clouded with conflict. Inspired to shed light on his people's story, Bin Sam moved to Australia to produce his works in English aiming to spread the Israelite truth internationally. Discography: Kivsayat 1999. Own This Life 2009 In July 2007 Raz Bin Sam signed with Jamaican label 'DasVibes Productions' to become one of their team artistes alongside some of the biggest names in the game such as Daddy Rings, Gentleman, Elijah Prophet and others. Raz Bin Sam released his new album 'Own This Life' on May 11th 2009. The 14 track album features productions by Melbourne producer Mista Savona, Israeli producers Sabbo & Kuti and English producer Stephen Mosco of Jah Warrior Records. The first single of the album 'Something To Remember' was released in July 07 on DasVibes and went straight in at No.1 on the US Independent Reggae Charts. It remained at this position for 4 weeks running before staying at No.2 for another 3 weeks. The second single from the album 'Life Is A gift' featuring Jamaican reggae artist Ray Darwin was released in Feb 08 and was selected for the CD compilation of the April 08 edition of Riddim Magazine, the number one reggae magazine in Europe. Raz Bin Sam is working his live shows with two different outfits. He has teamed up with Selecta Major Krazy to form Blaze Fire Sound, a traditional dancehall style sound system. They have played at 4ZZZ Market Day festival 06, Splendour in the Grass 07 and shared stage with Reggae super stars Jah Mason and Chaka Demus & Pliers Raz Bin Sam is also the front man of the 5 piece original reggae/dancehall band Lion I. The band uses a combination of roots, dancehall and Middle Eastern rhythms. Raz Bin Sam and the Lion I band have billed at numerous festivals including Exodus 06, Splendour in the Grass 06, Beats On The Beach 07, Brisbane Multicultural Festival 07, the White Party 07 in Sydney, Boost Mobile Surf Show 08, Brisbane Fest 08, NZ Freeski Open 08, Exodus 09, Byron Bay Writers Festival 09 and shared stage with international artists such as Mos Def, Matisyhau, dancehall star Tippa Irie, reggae superstars Luciano, Mikey General and Ricky Trooper. Raz Bin Sam's tunes can be heard regularly on radio shows worldwide and In Australia on Triple J, Nova, FBI Sydney, ABC, Radio Australia, PBS Melbourne, 4ZZZ Brisbane, Bay FM and others.. Bin Sam's songs are also used on international surf films and are regularly used by extreme sports TV channel 'SKUFF TV'. Jamaican label 'DasVibes' has been heavily involved in some of the top rated reggae releases over the past few years including Cali P's debut album, 'Lyrical Faya' in 2008, the 'The Most High' album from Jamaican veteran chanter Daddy Rings in 2007 and 'King Of Kings', the debut from singer Elijah Prophet in 2006. They have also released the first major riddim compilation of 'Gloria riddim', and now continuing that trend with Raz Bin Sam's new album 'Own This Life'. The 14 track album Own This Life was recorded and produced by Mista Savona* (Australia), Jah Warrior* (England) and Sabbo & Kuti* (Israel). It consists of Middle Eastern, Hip Hop, Reggae and Dancehall tracks. The first song on the album, (1) Crazy For Righteousness, is an 'uplifting party song' or one for the dance floor, given the exotic vibes on the bouncy Hip Hop Beat. (2) Pull Up takes a lyrical approach on a Middle Eastern Dancehall beat. (3) What's The Matter, a straight forward one-drop backing reggae tune. (4) Mist In The Jungle, a dancehall tune on a Middle eastern riddim. (5) Livin Like That a combination tune featuring top Jamaican chanter Jah Mason, voiced on a Middle Eastern dancehall riddim. (6) No Pegan is a modern roots track on a straight one-drop.
