ロイ･エアーズとエドウィン･バードソング･コンビが後ろ盾のプロジェクト、唯一のアルバムが再発。RampとはRoy Ayers Music Productionsの略で、当時Polydorと契約のあったロイの別レーベル用のプロジェクト。64年結成当初はRegalsと名乗り、60年代末にSpinnersのリズム･セクションを担当、Saturday Night Bandへと変容。76年にSpinnersのビリー･ヘンダーソンがロイに紹介、Rampが誕生。本家ロイ･エアーズ・ユビキティのヴァージョンよるいゆるい"Everybody Loves Sundhiner"、ATCQ"Bonita Applebum"で使われた"Daylight"などサンプリング世代にとってメロウ･グルーヴとはなんぞやを教えてくれたアルバム。
