Product Description

Digitally remastered edition of the West Coast band's 1968 debut album. Guitarist John Cipollina and singer Dino Valente were the original driving creative force behind the group. Unfortunately Valente was jailed for drugs and rejoined the band later, not featuring on this album. The band went on to have a recording career throughout the 1970s with an unchanging lineup. BGO. 2009.

繊細なギターがとにかく気持ちいい！特に４曲目でのツインギターの絡みはもう感涙もの。「グレイトフルデッド的な酩酊サイケギターフェチ」になる事は間違いなし。テレヴィジョンが気持ちいいと思った人もこれはイケるでしょう。個人的にはジャーマンサイケバンドのKraanのアルバム「Andy Nogger」も推しておきたい。

クイックシルヴァーと言えば2ndにどっぷりハマったクチなのでこの1stはどーも未成熟でこじんまりしている印象は否めないがそれにしても渋い！！！サイケ方面のみならずグレイトフルデッドと並ぶジャムロックの先駆者としてもっともっと評価されるべき名Bandだ。前半③曲はいかにもこの当時を感じさせる平淡なサイケロックだがやはり聴き所と言えば④，⑥！！ 美味い酒が飲める最高に渋いヘビィーチューンです。

渋谷のオヤジ、イージー・ライダー的感傷主義でものを断定し過ぎ。そういう俺は60年代アメリカン・サイケデリックよりも醗酵した70年代ヨーロピアン・サイケデリックが好み。もちろん60年代USAでもQ.M.S.、とりわけRED KRAYOLAはいい。70年代のUSAにおいてもジリ貧レーベルから出た自主製作盤サイケデリックはかなりある。地下潜伏はけっして敗北ではない！
