世間一般的には最高傑作と呼ばれることが多い。個人的には、①⑧⑨が好き。⑧⑨のつなぎ部での琴の音色に日本人として、喜びを感じる。

クイーンの４作目のアルバムで、個人的には６作目の「世界に捧ぐ」と並ぶ最高傑作アルバムであると思います。３年前の映画「ボヘミアン・ラプソディ」により彼らを知り感動し、そして彼らの音楽を聴くようになったファンも多い事でしょう。それはそれで良いのですが、今作は映画公開の４０年以上も前のアルバムであり、フレディ・マーキュリーが亡くなってからもう３０年も経つのです。傑作は時代を超えて色々な手段で受け継がれていくものです。彼らの音楽が全く色褪せていない事が証明されたのだと思います。

QUEENを語るうえで欠かせない傑作アルバム。誰もが一度は聞いたことがある「ボヘミアン・ラプソディ」はもちろん、JOHN DEACON作の「マイ・ベスト・フレンド」も名曲です。なお後にJOHNは「地獄へ道連れ」で全米No.1を獲得し、ソングライターとしての才能を開花させます。
