これはパーセルの鍵盤曲集の中で最も輝いて...

これはパーセルの鍵盤曲集の中で最も輝いている一枚。質素ながら感情豊かなメロディの宝庫であるこれらの作品群は、淡々と弾けば弾くほど味気がなくなる。しかし、エガーは洒落た装飾を散りばめて影に隠れがちであった本作品群を鮮やかに表に出してきた感がある。ダートやマルコムに初まり、ブーレイやギルバート、ボーモン等、様々な演奏で地味に愉しんできたが、エガーによって佳品から大曲にランクアップしたように思う。しかし、家庭的な温もりは決して消えていない。文句なくお薦め。

劇音楽以外にもパーセルの魅力は尽きません。ギボンズあたりの曲よりもさらに色彩に富み、音楽の発想が豊かになっているような気がします。エガーが出す名盤から目が離せませんね。
