Product Description

Deluxe two CD edition including bonus CD containing live and demo recordings. Digitally remastered edition. 1996's Dance Into The Light presented a flavor of the unexpected as elements of world music came to the fore, most notably with flourishes of Afrobeat-styled percussion on several tracks. Both the album and it's title track reached the Top 10 upon release. It concludes with a new take on Bob Dylan's The Times They Are A-Changin'. Dance Into The Light features guest backing vocalists, including Arnold McCuller, and Amy Keys. It was notable for being the first album that Collins released as a full-time solo artist, having left Genesis earlier that year. Six singles were issued from Dance into the Light: It's in Your Eyes, You Ought to Know, No Matter Who, Wear My Hat, The Same Moon and the title track.

PCのソロアルバム史上初めて本人の顔面アップではないジャケットデザインのアルバムです。サウンドは確かに明るい感じがしますが、あまりインパクトのある曲がない...という感想です。前作と違ってDarylなどの仲間たちも参加していますのでそれなりに仕上がっているのですが...

フィル・コリンズのソロ名義のアルバム！というと「ノー・ジャケット・リクワイアード」や「バット・シリアスリー」をあげる人も多いと思いますが、このアルバムは上記にあげた二つの作品にひけをとらない秀逸な作品です！ 元気いっぱいの、フィルの歌声、そして、ドラム・・・と聴いていくうちに、最後を飾る「時代は変わる」は云うまでもなく、ボブ・ディランの名曲！涙ものです。
