パット・メセニー＆ライル・メイズが音楽を担当した1985年のサスペンス映画「Falcon and the Snowman（コードネームはファルコン）」のサウンドトラックがMusic On Vinyl社より180g重量盤アナログLPでリイシュー。

主題歌となった「This Is Not America」は言わずもがなデヴィッド・ボウイとメセニー・グループによる奇跡のコラボ楽曲。ボウイがヴォーカル〜コーラス・パートを多重に使い分け、PMGによる美しくも陰影濃いサウンドが見事にマッチ。

ペドロ・アズナールの心地よいヴォイスが重用された曲をはじめ、PMGのオリジナル・アルバムとして数えられてしかるべき傑作。

コードネームはファルコンというタイトルの映画サウンドトラック「The Falcon and the Snowman」、1985年のアルバムです。僕のレコードで買った最後のアルバムで、これ以降はCDしかありません。 メンバーはパット・メセニー・グループ(Pat MethenyとLyle Mays、Steve Rodby、Paul Wertico、Pedro Aznar）です。さらにNational Philharmonic Orchestraが スティーヴ・ロドビー指揮の下加わっております。 サウンドトラックだから、かなり単調だったりテーマの繰り返しだったりする分、デヴィッド・ボウイ の歌う「ジス・イズ・ノット・アメリカ」が光って聞こえます。
