パット・メセニーのBright Size Lifeは1976年にECMレコードから発売されたデビュー・アルバム。 メンバーにはベースのジャコ・パストリアスがいる、これでアルバムのムードはほとんど言い尽くせる。 パットのふくよかで存在感のあるギター、ジャコの唯一無二のフレットレスベース、2人のインタープレイ、パット・メセニーのオリジナル曲とオーネット・コールマンの曲のバランス。 1枚目の1曲目から輝きを持ったアルバム。 ドラムは、ボブ・モーゼス。

このアルバムが発売された時期は、パットとジャコを比べたら、明らかにジャコ＞パットでしょう。パットもやや遠慮気味に聞えます。 ECMの白を基調としたジャケットは大好きでした。懐かしいアルバムに再会できました。
