Product Description

2 CD Otis Redding, often referred to as the 'King of Soul' and most well known for his song 'Sitting at the Dock of a Bay'. This rare live album from Otis Redding was recorded at the Whiskey a Go-Go on April 9 and 10, 1966. This is the first time the recordings have been released as a complete package and the songs are sequenced exactly as they went down, complete with an emcee and spoken introductions by Redding. Booklet features rare photographs as well as extensive liner notes by Ashley Kahn, author of music biographies and a contributor to NPR's Morning Edition.

OtisのLIVEではモンタレーやインヨーロッパなどが評価が高いが、 このwhisky a gogoもなかなかだよ。 パッケージショーをアルバム化したみたいだが、今までこのLIVEから 出てたのとは別物のように聴ける。 好きなDisc1の5.9やストーンズの4.10など、またDisc2の14などで聴ける ように無編集？なので熱気がガンガン伝わって来るよ！ 同じ曲だろうがOtisに手抜きは一切無し！ 他の人も言ってるように価格も安いし買いです。

国内盤の発売を待つまでもなく、特価で買える輸入盤はお買い得である。内容的にはﾌﾙ･ｺﾝﾌﾟﾘｰﾄとはいかないまでも、66年4月9日と10日のｽﾃｰｼﾞの使える音源を蔵出ししたものらしい。 時代を考えると録音状態もかなりいいし、演奏の熱さ共々ﾌｧﾝにはﾏｽﾄなｱｲﾃﾑとなる事必至！！ ｿｳﾙをあまり聴かないﾛｯｸ系のﾘｽﾅｰにもｵｽｽﾒで、ｷﾞﾐｯｸ無しの白熱したｽﾃｰｼﾞは一聴の価値有りだろう。ﾋﾞｰﾄﾙｽﾞやｽﾄｰﾝｽﾞを始め、多くのﾛｯｸ系ｱｰﾃｨｽﾄと交流を持ち影響を与えた偉大なｴﾝﾀｰﾃｨﾅｰの素のﾗｲﾌﾞが聴ける本作は買って損はﾅｼ！
