1943年初演の大人気ブロードウェイ・ミュージカル『オクラホマ！』の初演から今年で75周年！本作はオリジナル･キャストによる75周年記念サウンドトラック。ロジャース&ハマースタインのコンビによる初ミュージカルでもあり、そのミュージカル上演後1955年には映画化、そして同名タイトル曲は後にオクラホマ州の州歌にも採用。日本では宝塚歌劇団にも取り上げられ、世界中で大人気のミュージカル作品。サウンドトラックも1943年にリリースされているが、本作が最初の「ブロ−ドウェイ・キャスト･アルバム」大ヒットとなった。
