Whether we like it or not (and, let’s face it, most people do) The Offspring are single-handedly responsible for making twenty-first century punk rock safe for the masses. With the release of the independent album ‘Smash’, the band proved that they had what the kids wanted and each of their subsequent Columbia releases – ‘Ixnay On The Hombre’, ‘Americana’ and ‘Conspiracy Of One’ have gone to do better than the last. Now the band return with their best album yet. ‘Splinter’ has been produced once again by Brendan O'Brien, who oversaw their last two Columbia sets and is a set that’ll please all existing Offspring fans as well as reeling in a whole generation of new ones. While the band's trademark humour is still around in tracks like ‘Worst Hangover Ever’ and ‘When You're In Prison’, it's tracks like the first single ‘Hit That’ that pick up where ‘Defy You’ left off. So, resistance is futile - get a little ‘Splinter’ under your skin from the Offspring.

戦争から（海の）サーフィンまで持っていくところが、曲作りの上手さだと思うし、何かっていうと「自分たちには自由がある」ってところが心地よかった。
