MonkeyJunk draws heavily on the legends of the blues and translates those influences into a contemporary blend of swamp R&B, soul boogie and bedroom funk. Their second CD, 'To Behold,' was recorded in Ottawa-area studios and co-produced by Ken Friesen (Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo) and Steve Marriner. The band's first album, 'Tiger in Your Tank,' was voted Best New Artist Debut at the Blues Awards in Memphis last year. MonkeyJunk tour consistently for six months each year, have played two tours in Europe, and have been booked at major Canadian and U. S. festivals this summer.
